REDESIGN OF LOUISE PLADS,
AALBORG, DENMARK

Year of project:

Type of project: Urban design/Landscape

In coorporation with: Aalborg Muncipality

Description: Inhabitant of the houses facing the square have complained about loud noises from skaters using the elements as training tools.

The square is quite harsh in the materials, and even though there are plantet trees, they do not grow as they should, probably because they have not enough soil for their roots, and are suffering from dehydration.

Using fine gravel and grass areas in the dropzones for the skaters would interfere imensely on their activities, reducing sound level and also making the square greener and more userfriendly. Incoorporating the green areas with the larger zones for the treeroots would give the trees better conditions and the square a nicer look.
